7 Members of KRMFC made the trip to Dundee Model Club which is actually sited on Barry Budden Training Camp near Monifieth. All 7 were wearing club colours bringing favourable comments from all the Dundee lads.

After one flight first thing in the morning the rain came down. A great opportunity to try out the excellent catering provided by Dundee. Suitably replenished with burgers, hot dogs and bacon rolls we waited patiently for the rain to clear. After a downpour lasting an hour the rain finally did stop and out came the sun.

Within minutes of the rain stopping the Kinross Wot 4 boys were in the air chasing each other around the skies. We were quickly joined by a couple of the Dundee guys also flying Wot 4’s ..... mayhem in the sky with 7 Wot 4’s up at the same time! Tricky conditions for the Kinross boys as most were not used to landing on such a short and narrow runway...but after several attempts all were down safely.

The highlight of the day was Billy Dunn passing his SAA Silver award a fantastic achievement after just starting the hobby 9 months ago.

Undoubtedly the saddest part of the day was seeing Douggies large scale Extra 260 destroyed. The elevator was torn off in flight and there was nothing Douggie could do to save the plane. Hopefully the engine and all electronics can be salvaged .

In summary this was an excellent day and one which I’m sure we will be attending next year. We thank everyone at Dundee for their excellent hospitality and we look forward to welcoming the Dundee boys to our own open day on the 4^{th July.}
